Accentuating the caveat emptor perspective with critical commentary on financial disclosure. I adopt a skeptical persona and look for chinks in the teflon coating of financial disclosure. My job is to identify financial warts. Perhaps a Black Swan. Disclosure: I do not hold positions in stocks mentioned for three trading days before or after blog post.

ATI Technologies (Nasdaq:ATYT) cranks up the corporate noise machine
ATI Technologies (Nasdaq-ATYT) has cranked up the corporate noise machine something fierce. During January they have issued twelve (by my count) press releases. Sometimes two a day. Most could be considered marketing communications. None have been filed with the SEC. If and when you issue twelve major marketing announcements is it significant from a regulatory point of view. Investors look to the future therefore new products are important. But wait a minute the annual meeting is coming up in a few days. A flurry of new announcements will focus attention in a certain way. There are some who believe that there are no accidents.
